Missisquoi 01
Missisquoi 01 is a numbered and asymmetrical two-part coffee table, with a space that divides it as the river divides the Missisquoi Valley. The stone and plank that support the two parts form a continuous axis end to end, through the divide. The beauty of the raw stone converses with the delicate craftsmanship of the wood plateau. The perimeter of the table’s parts is tapered down to a thin edge, evoking the strength of steel plate and recalling the sculptures of Richard Serra. The two separate pieces are meant to be together as one composition, 4’’ apart, but could also be separated for specific applications.
